"The Heart Won't Lie" a songfic starring Brick and Jo from the Total Drama series

It felt like a very long time. Years had passed after Total Drama: Revenge of the Island ended. All felt well and good. That is until naval academy had stepped into one's man door of fate. Fate was always unpreventable, it happens one way or another, no matter what the person tries to do to change it.

Brick MacArthur was his name, and he was trained in the very art of combat and survival. His family had a very wise history of naval experiences. Everyone in the MacArthur family had risked their lives trying to protect the only one thing they truly loved at all time...and that was freedom. They lived and died with freedom, one way or the other. But however, what they never had counted on was the only thing Brick and the rest of the family had truly counted on. And that was love.

It all happened inside the naval academy itself. There were new recruits who had now been drafted to go to war. Every one of those new students had now been dressed in camouflage as they were about to undergo combat exercises. Brick wasn't one of them, as he had now became the youngest commander there ever was in the military force. He had now approached the podium.

"Ladies and gentleman, welcome to the annual training exercises. This isn't just any session, these are the sessions of your lives. These are the kind of sessions that will put you to the test against any possible threat that manages to attack this great country of ours. You will bleed, you will sweat, and you will cry. And the only reasons why you will do all those things is the spirit of our country itself. This is your only chance to prove yourself. You will prove what strength you have left and you will prove to your country why you should be a hero. And these exercises will be your private battleground. So for all of me to you, good luck. Men and women...salute!"

Brick spoke to all of the recruits as they saluted all back to him. But as they did, the cadet had took a glance at someone so familiar from his past. The sudden glance just said it all. Those violet eyes, that short blonde hair that she possessed and that tomboyish figure that she had. She had looked much like Sue Sylvester from Glee but she was just so beautifully crafted in strength and attitude.

It happened to be Jo, the only person who had secretly hated Brick on the inside ever since they stepped into the radioactive island for the first time. It was always a round of "Anything-You-Can-Do-I-Can-do-Better" each week. But basically, most of the encounters they had became sort of confrontational. The way that they competed against each other in that intense eating contest, the way that they thumb wrestled, the way that Jo teased Brick as he was scared of the dark, but the only life-changing moment between them was the fact that she grabbed Brick's hand and pulled him out of that terrifying grave when he fell through a booby trap. It was certain that Jo was being concerned for his well-being.

Looking back over the years of all the things both Brick and Jo used to say to each other, their fighting words didn't come easily. They had a bit of a hidden fear that became quite as empty through many times they were alone. It was like their life had became a phone out of some sorts, no matter how many times they try to pick up the phone to each other's hearts, they just felt so scared of whom they might be answering. Life, and pretty much fate had gotten in their way.

The rest of the recruits, including Jo, had now endured every task that Brick thrown right at them, crawling into mud and barbed wire. After that, they were forced to climb up a high 9-foot wall, next became the tires, and finally after that was the artillery drills. Jo had basically owned every task that Brick gave her and just accomplished. Brick was just fascinated by the way that Jo had handled every type of gun there was to experiment. Whatever it was a drone gun, a sniper rifle, an AK-47, Jo was pretty much a pro. Brick just couldn't believe how beautiful she was right on the training field. He would imagine fighting alongside her on the battleground, looking after each other and not letting each other become left behind in the middle of war.

Brick in his heart knew that this would become the last time that he and Jo would see each other before she would graduate naval academy. If only Brick would only get the chance to tell Jo how he truly felt if his voice were to still be heard in the radio that was her heart itself. It was long after tonight as Brick had saw Jo sleeping carelessly on a soft warm cot all by herself. No one would dare to sleep beside her due to her violent tendencies. What would Brick do if she and Jo met once again? Will their old desires for each other make them act carelessly?

The fire between them made the scattered ashes fly through them as the four winds had blown and gone in a matter of time. Brick took a deep breath and knocked gently. His heart was pumping fiercely. Would Jo still hate him? After all, they lived their lives day to day from each other. The moment of truth was finally over when the door finally opened and out came Jo wearing a white tanktop and sweatpants. She was a bit surprised to see the cadet in front of her.

"Brick? Why are you here in the middle of the night?" Jo spoke to him calmly. Brick didn't comment on this situation. He had saw the former jockette across the room, and it was giving his heart away to him. It was certain that Brick had come back to her. Life was certainly getting in the way sometimes, but there was something that wouldn't change from beneath them.

"Jo...there's something I need to do to make this right..." he spoke out desperately.

"Well...what?" Jo said in a little bit of annoyance. Brick then took a step closer to the ex-jockette herself. She didn't have no clue what the heck was going on at this moment, and it was making Jo impatient. "Well, spit it out already! I don't have all damn night!"

It was very certain what the cadet really wanted to do in his whole life.

Both of them stood silent as their faces then slowly started to move closer to each other. Both Brick and Jo had felt each other's warmth and comfort between the rest of them. Their hearts beated just like the sounds of machine guns put together. Their hands had now locked between one another as it felt the tender excitement that made their hearts melt.

Finally, Brick had surprised Jo with a sudden kiss of the lips. Brick had felt something so warm and yet so moist come from her tight pink lips. Jo's eyes had bulged at this pressure as it almost looked like he was gonna punch Brick's lights out of the academy itself, but in a surprising tone... Jo had swooned over Brick's passionate kiss and wrapped her sudden arms around his neck to make the kiss even more tighter. Her tongue was now invading Brick's as they were now in a huge tonsil war. Both tongues had fought bravely and thought of gameplans to exceed one another, but there was no clear cut winner. They both had collapsed into her private cot, still kissing each other passionately and tenderly as her gentle loving moans filled her with such pure adrenaline.

As they soon broke off the kiss... Brick and Jo had met in one final and loving embrace before she would graduate. Their moods turned heartfelt as they sweetly smiled at each other. Jo had felt his arms wrap around her, holding her until they would die in the line of battle entirely with a sudden teardrop in her face. Brick suddenly wiped the tear of from her gorgeous, yet tomboyishish look from her face, knowing that it won't be the last time they would see each other.

"Jo...I love you..." Brick whispered right to her as she gently whispered back.

"I love you too, Brick...and I want this moment to last forever..."

With all that being said, Brick and Jo kissed passionately once again as they continued to hold each other all through the night. Sure they lived on their own alibis and their moment between each other knew they were lost inside a foolish disguise. But fate had a way of playing its cards romantically. Brick and Jo's hearts inside them had never lied...

...they were truly in love with each other.

This was one of the first times I wrote about Brick and Jo from the Total Drama series. And I gotta say, this Reba McEntire/Vince Gill song definitely fits them perfectly! Here's the complete music video that inspires this couple:
